Born and raised in the town of Orocovis in Central Puerto Rico, he has known and experienced the barriers to access health care. This led him to prepare as a health professional to have the knowledge to be able to serve others.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Management, a master’s degree in Health Services Administration and a Doctorate in Public Health with a concentration in Health Systems Analysis and Management from the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.
His professional career includes over 25 years of service in the public and private sector. In the 90’s he began offering services in ground and air ambulances as a paramedic until 2009. With a vocation of service that precedes him, he has offered his services as a hospital administrator, holding positions as Administrator of Ambulatory Centers, Hospitals, in addition to having been the Executive Director of the Diabetes Center for Puerto Rico and Deputy Executive Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Puerto Rico.
